Do you remember the days of the past when we had the cassete players? We put the cassette inside(which we had recorded sneakily praying for the radio producer not to speak and ruin the sog!) and we just enjoyed the music! That's what the creators of http://www.kasetophono.com remembered and created for you playlists of songs that swear to accompany you in everything you have to do...

Τι τραγούδι να σου πω που να' χει αέρα;

Considering to what you want to hear:greek or foreign, how you feel: melancholy or happy, what you want to do: sleep, drink coffee, read or cry(!) ,here you are!

Just pick a category and...the job is being done!

Also,I want to mention that the site is greek!!At the same philosophy of stereomood but more minimalistic and traditional(the word "kasetophono" means cassette player in greek)

Something we forgot but we really want the other generations to learn, kasetophono, promises to change the hours that you want to hear some music, discover new songs But mostly without commercials and talking!!

Push "play" and let the journey begin!

Ingredients (Serves 6):

Directions:

  1. Stage 1.
Heat the stock.

Then in a separate pan heat the olive oil add the shallot or onion celery and a pinch of salt and sweat the vegetables for about 3 minutes.
Add the garlic and after another 2 minutes when the vegetables have softened add the rice.

Turn up the heat now.

At this crucial point you can`t leave the pan and anyway this is the best bit.

While slowly stirring continuously you are beginning to fry the rice.

You don`t want any colour at any point (so remember you`re in control and if the temperature seems too high turn it down a bit).
You must keep the rice moving.

After 2 or 3 minutes it will begin to look translucent as it absorbs all the flavours of your base (it may crackle at this point that`s fine).
Add the vermouth or wine keeping on stirring as it hits the pan it will smelt fantastic!

It will sizzle around the rice evapourating any harsh alcohol flavours and leaving the rice with a tasty essence.

I must admit I`m a sucker for dry vermouth. When it cooks into the rice it seems to give it a really full but subtle flavour and leaves a wicked sweetness that works perfectly with the rice. White wine is lovely probably more delicate and fresh.

Try both see what you think.
  1. Stage 2.
Once the vermouth or wine seems to have cooked into the rice add your first ladle of hot stock and a pinch of salt (add small amounts of salt to taste white you are adding the stock).

Turn down the heat to a highish simmer (the reason we don`t want to boil the hell out of it is because if we do the outside of the rice wilt be cooked and fluffy and the inside will be raw).

Keep adding ladlefuls of stock stirring and allowing each ladleful to be absorbed before adding the next.

This will take about 15 minutes.

Taste the rice is it cooked?

Carry on adding stock until the rice is soft but with a slight bite.

Check seasoning.
  1. Stage 3.
Remove from the heat and add the butter and the Parmesan saving a little of the latter to go on top if you like.Stir gently.

Eat it as soon as possible while it retains its moist texture.

Serve it on its own or with a crisp green salad and a hunk of crusty bread.

If you follow this recipe I promise you`ll be making some of the best risottos out. The real secret of a good risotto I`m afraid is that you have to stand over it and give it your loving and undivided attention for about 17 minutes but it`s worth it. The recipe is in stages; I am going to give you five of my favourite risottos all variants of this basic recipe.
To find a dry white wine, a good rule of thumb is the greater the alcohol %, the drier the wine.

It's the start of the holiday season and with all the stores showing off their holiday displays, one has no choice to get prepared for the parties, the food and fun.  To start off the season, I want to show you a simple 5-minute gift wrapping DIY that you can do for Christmas or even Thanksgiving.  With just a few wooden beads and a Sharpie pen, you can create unique tags to top your presents.

For this DIY, you'll need:
  • A black gel pen (I used a Sharpie pen)
  • Wooden beads
  • Yarn or twine
  • Gift wrapping paper
  • Scissors
  • Other gift wrap embellishments

Before stringing the beads on the yarn, write out each letter of your message or name with the pen.  Don't use a marker, because it will bleed.  It'll seep through the cracks of the bead and become a big mess.  But I like how thin the letters look when using a pen.  It gives it a modern look.  You can also paint the beads a different color before writing on them.  A metallic gold would look great, or you can even use chalkboard paint and write the letters with chalk.  There's no limit to the creativity with this.  Write "thanks," "give thanks," or thank you" to tailor it to Thanksgiving Day.

I've added mini pine cones along with wooden chips for name tags.  Add any other embellishments you'd like to give it some more flair.

A few months ago, 24-year-old Andrew Hozier-Byrne was a little-known Irish singer-songwriter. But his YouTube hit "Take Me to Church" won him a wave of insta-hype, and his debut LP earns it. Blessed with a sensual singing voice and a seemingly bottomless well of lapsed-Catholic-style conflict, Hozier channels Van Morrison's Celtic R&B, Southern soul and Black Keys-style garage blues into intimately roiling songs like "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene." On the Irish-folk lullaby "In a Week," he promises some lucky lass eternal rapture through the sweet embrace of shared death: "We'd become the flowers/We'd feed well the land." So down-to-earth!
